" OMNeT++ installed " Veins installed " OSMWebWizard installed

Steps:

1. Create a map in OSMWebWizard

o Click on the "Export" button in OSMWebWizard. o Select "Overpass API" as the export format. o Copy the generated Overpass API query into a text editor.

3. Generate a SUMO network from the OSM data.

o Save the Overpass API query as an .osm file. o Open a terminal window and navigate to the directory containing the .osm file. o Run the following command to generate a SUMO network file from the .osm file: o osmium osmium_extract -f ./map.osm -o ./map.net.xml -g ./map.poly.xml

4. Modify the Veins simulation configuration. o Open the Veins simulation configuration file (e.g., vienna.ini). o Locate the net-file and polygons attributes in the section. o Replace the default Vienna map references with the generated custom map references: XML

5. Generate custom routes for the custom map. o Create a route file (.rou.xml) using the generated custom map and desired traffic patterns. o You can use SUMO tools like duarouter.exe to generate routes based on the custom map. o Reference the generated route file in the Veins simulation configuration file: XML

6. Run the Veins simulation with the custom map.

o Run the Veins simulation using the modified configuration file and custom map files.

o The simulation will now use the custom map instead of the default Vienna map.

Latest Version:

The latest version of OMNeT++ is 6.0.1, and the latest version of Veins is 5.6.1. The above instructions should work for both of these versions.

Additional Notes:

" You can also export your map from OSMWebWizard in other formats, such as .svg or .png. " You can use other SUMO tools to generate routes, such as jtroute. " You can use other visualization tools to view your simulation results, such as veinsView.
