2. OMNeT++: Install OMNeT++ (Objective Modular Network Testbed in C++) simulation environment.This is the second step of change the default map of veins.

3. OpenStreetMap: An account on OpenStreetMap.org to export map data.

Steps:

1. Export Map Data from OpenStreetMap:

a. Go to OpenStreetMap.org and sign in to your account.

b. Navigate to the area you want to use as the custom map.

c. Click on the "Export" button in the top right corner.

d. Select "Overpass API" as the export format.

e. Copy the generated Overpass API query into a text editor.

2. Generate SUMO Network from OpenStreetMap Data:

a. Save the Overpass API query as an .osm file.

b. Open a terminal window and navigate to the directory containing the .osm file.

c. Run the following command to generate a SUMO network file from the .osm file: osmium osmium_extract -f ./map.osm -o ./map.net.xml -g ./map.poly.xml

3. Modify the Veins Simulation Configuration:

a. Open the Veins simulation configuration file (e.g., vienna.ini).

b. Locate the net-file and polygons attributes in the input section.

c. Replace the default Vienna map references with the generated custom map references: XML This is the third step of change the default map of veins. 4. Generate Custom Routes for the Custom Map: a. Create a route file (.rou.xml) using the generated custom map and desired traffic patterns. b. You can use SUMO tools like duarouter.exe to generate routes based on the custom map. c. Reference the generated route file in the Veins simulation configuration file: XML

This is the fourth step of change the default map of veins.

5. Run the OMNeT++ Sumo Veins Simulation with the Custom Map for change the default map of veins :

a. Run the Veins simulation using the modified configuration file and custom map files.

b. The simulation will now use the custom map instead of the default Vienna map.

This process allows you to customize the OMNet++ Sumo Veins simulation environment with a map that reflects your desired traffic scenario and geographical area. This is the fifth step of change the default map of veins.
